Abstract
This research aims to measure the relationship between mother’s safety competency and their risk perception of children’s privacy in ‘sharenting’ activities. Parents’ safety competency may show their awareness toward data safety on what they share in the digital world, in this context in Instagram, particularly for the content related to their children. This research is explanative quantitative research, which tries to measure the relationship between two variables. The subject will be the mothers in East Java, who use Instagram and have posted content about children and or have opened an account under children’s name.
