Abstract

Innovation is imperative for business organizations' survival. Due to this, business scholars and professionals intensely discussed how to boost innovation in business organizations. However, the current literature primarily only discusses innovation from motivational psychology lenses. Moreover, innovation is a demanding and resource-intensive process that, while innovation is beneficial for organization performance, innovation might create resource depletion for employees. Therefore, we argue that using more critical lenses to assess innovation is needed for creating more sustainable innovation in the long run. Therefore, in this research, we argue that to ignite innovation in business organizations, managers must maintain their employees' well-being by adopting well-being-oriented management (WOM) approach. That said, in this research, we explore the mechanism of how WOM influences innovative work behavior.
