Abstract

The title of following research is The Effect of United Nations Security Council's Resolution Number 1701 for Israel-Lebanon Conflict 2006. The problem chosen by the writer is about how United Nations Security Council's Resolution Number 1701 affected the Israel-Lebanon Crisis 2006. The purpose of this research is to know about the effect of the resolutions to discharge the conflict relate with the duty and function of United Nations Security Council to keep the international peace and security. The research method applied is normative legal research, which was the research that studied standards of the current law. The Security Council was one of main organ in United Nations that had a function and authority to maintain international peace and security as regulated on Charter of the United Nation. Israel - Lebanon conflict assumed by Security Council could endangered regional peace and security, so the Security Council issued United Nations Security Council's Resolution Number 1701. The result of this research is the effects of United Nations Security Council's resolution to discharged the Israel-Lebanon conflict, like permanent ceasefire, withdrawal of the Israeli forces from Lebanon regions, militants disarmament, and monitoring the border among Lebanon and Syria to prevent smuggling of weapons, so the suffering of the civilians can be terminated. Author suggest that the resolution issued by Security Council had to create justice to the parties were conflicted and the delay of Security Council issuing a resolution must be avoid especially for regular member to use veto.
