Abstract

Working relations among parties in construction activities are drawn up into a contract. A construction contract consists of administrative matters and construction techniques and requirement. A suitable construction contract depends on the needs and condition of the project. It is very often that disputes happen on construction sites due to different points of view concerning the contract. There are several ways to resolve disputes on construction sites, either by negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or by litigation in a court. This study aims at analyzing the roles of any construction parties in dispute resolution in construction projects. The result show that Team Leaders and Project Managers play a primary role in dispute resolution. It is also shown that construction costs are the most influential factor that make dispute happen on construction sites. Non-litigation is the chosen way of resolving any disputes.
