Abstract

The Role of UNICEF in the protection of the children against violence by separatist groups of ISIS is the title of Legal Writing / this thesis. There are many children to be victims of violence of the ISIS especially in the Middle East and most children are exposed to violence in Iraq and Syria. The method of this research is Normative juridical and Normative legal sense. Normative juridical research means research that focuses on the norms of law (law in the books), which includes international agreements that have relevance to the problems. Normative legal sense required in a wide variety of data sources. The data required in this research is secondary data consists of Primary law materials include international agreements relating to the problems examined. The international agreements that use is Convention Rights Children and The UN Charter. Secondary law material consisting of the views of experts, books, websites, articles or papers, research results related to legal issues studied. Legal material Tertiary where the author uses Indonesian Dictionary and Dictionary English - Indonesia to help this research. This institution works to protect the rights of the children victims. Efforts of UNICEF in order to protect child victims of violence is to gather information about forced marriage, human trafficking and reports of children who returned to Syria for join to armed groups such as the monitoring of the protection of children in maintaining a safe space for children and prevent Rights violations. UNICEF efforts to make the protection of children is less the maximum because there are many children who have experienced violence not only physically but also mentally. It would require good cooperation between UNICEF with other international agencies engaged in humanitarian later of such cooperation, is expected to reduce or even eliminate child abuse is to raise the awareness of parents, communities and countries of the importance of child protection. In addition UNICEF is also expected to be always to the monitoring or to observed the development and protection of children victims of violence are not only occurring in the ISIS conflict, but also conflicts in other countries.
