Abstract

The author interested to study on the crime which is related to the stealing, the author prefer to write on the motorized vehicle stealing by taking title “The Role of Police in Tackling the Crime of Motorized Vehicle Stealing in the Area of Kulon Progo Regency”. The author made a problem formulation related with the motorized vehicle stealing that is how the police’s action in the effort to prevent of motorized vehicle stealing, in order to the future get a right conclusion or close to the truth. The aim of this research is to know the police’s action on how to tackle the crime of motorized vehicle stealing in the area of Kulon Progo regency. The author used method of study “normative Juridical”. The conclusion of this research is that the motorized vehicle stealing often happens in the field where farmers do their activities. Some stealers exploit that opportunity to steal motorcycle. This action also happens in the rural where that place lack of safety and security. Thus there are many action which could be conducted by the police in tackling the crime of stealing, such as by using preventive and repressive action.
