Abstract

Reporter is one of profession type in mass media corporation who collecting and providing the accurate information to the public community. The consecuenceof reporter asprofessions is readiness if any time should cover criminalor disaster news to the crash or criminal location. Therefore, safety assurance and work protection for reporter are necessary. The aims of this study are to assess the implementation of work protection and employment requirementin reporter and to examines the role of Rajawali Television (RTV) as an employer to protect the reporter who was on duty in the danger zone. This research is held from April to May 2015 at Rajawali TV (RTV) office building in jakarta. This study use empirical law study that focuses on the behavioural of legal community. This study was conducted by direct interview to respondents. The assessment of this study is using primary and secondary legal protocol. The result of this study showed Rajawali TV is according to the law protocol in Indonesia but in providing overtime work compensation to the reporter is still lacking. In addition, Rajawali TV did not provid safety instrument for the reporter who was on duty in danger zone. However, Rajawali TV will be responsible to the reporter who had an accident at working area such as hospitalization cost.
