Abstract

The aim of this research is knowing the obstacles in preventing the misuse of foreign living permit in Batam. Also, how the local Immigration settle on prevent this case. This kind of research is empiric, that focused on social fact. This research conducted directly to the respondens to obtain the data’s needed by the researcher as a substance for analytical assignment. The primary datas obtained directly from the objective respondeds. Whereas, the secondary datas consist of primary legal material in the form of Undangundang Nomor 6 tahun 2011 about immigration and Undang-undang Republik Indonesia Nomor 23 Tahun 2014 that regulate about local government. Besides primary legal material there also secondery legal material, obtained from literatur, article, jurnal, and magazine that relate with this case. In conclusion the obstacles faced by the immigration that prevent the misuse of foreign living permitt are arreage, human resources, and lack of coordination from the citizen with immigration. Yet, the immigration already give some efforts to solves this case such as immigration socialization, forming TIMPORA (Tim Pengawasan rang Asing), and increasing the immigration system like SIMKIM (Sistem Informasi Manajemen Keimigrasian).
