Abstract

The rapid growth of hotel in Yogyakarta City has caused ground water crisis due to the uncontrolled use of ground water. The Legal issues raised are firstly, how the use of ground water by hotels is controlled, and secondly, what obstacles are faced in controlling the use of ground water. The purpose of this research is to know how BLH controls the use of ground water by hotel in the city of yogyakarta and obstacles faced by BLH. Data were collected through both interviews with respondents and study literature. The research finding shows that BLHhas controlled the use of ground water by hotel, but it has not yet conducted maximally, because of a number of problems, namely, the limited number of BLH’s professional human resources, lack of coordination between BLH and related agencies, as well as lack of socialization. It is therefore, recommended that BLH add a number of professional workers, improve socialization and the coordination with related government agencies. a third party that has put legal certainty.
