Abstract

Dossier is a crucial part of indictment formulation and it also plays a strategic role in investigation activities conducted by the investigators. Based on the problem background described above, problem formulation through answering the questions of what is the function of dossier in criminal case and can suspect refute information stated on the dossier. The type of this law research is applying normative law. The main data sources applied are secondary data consisting of primary, secondary and tertiary law materials. Data collection method applied is literature study on related legislative regulation and also collecting books, journals, and interviews with related sources in this law research. Based on the research result, the researcher concluded that Dossier serves to record statements of the suspect and witnesses as well as evidence tools and materials for the police, public prosecutors, and the judges. Dossier is then utilized to illustrate the incident for the authorities and information stated on the minutes of proceeding before the trial which can also be denied by the suspect when the information provided does not match the facts and data given by the suspect as in the interrogation process.
