Abstract
This study focused on the application of queuing theory in construction by developing the exponential models for single-server and multiserver queuing systems. The models were validated by applying them to the actual site operations. The results show that the Production Indices obtained from the models are approximately close to those collected from the actual site operations. The models therefore allow satisfactory estimates to be made of the construction site operations. A hopper model for finite source queues was also developed for use by construction site managers. It introduced faster server time and thereby improving production.
