Abstract

The heightening rate of growth or development of a city will be accompanied, as viewed from sociological perspective, by the increase of typical socio-urban problems. One among them is the rise of prostitution business. It is, first and foremost, indicated by the spread of prostitution workers. For a certain members of urban population, the workers service are found undeniably significant to pursue such aims like recreation and relaxation. In other words, the presence of prostitution manifests as a logical consequence of urban development. Plano logy experts, based on this ground of assumption, are generally skeptical about the idea of possible total elimination of business as such from urban life. In a market-like relation, prostitution provides occupation for certain group of people, while in other side it comes to meet with other people's demand. However, prostitution business which taking place in an urban sphere presents a social pathology. Such kind of activity could potentially threaten the existing secure and orderly state of social life. Legitimate regulation should be applied to prevent its harmful effect in the future. To serve for this ultimate aim, it is necessary to restrict, and/or even prohibit, this commercialsexual practice. No less important is to take measures of protecting and rehabilitating the humanvictims as the serious effect of the prostitution market. Prosecution and legal sanction must be given to responsible actor(s) of this crime. In this circumstance, every prostitution worker will be jailed and put in trial. Punishment for the actors is not the only solution for this problem. The (ex) workers will be facilitated for counseling and rehab program in such a way that they could permanently withdraw themselves from the illegal business in the future. Imprisonment and fine are expected to render them feeling remorse for the practice. Counseling and rehab program mean to re-socialize them into society and rehearse them for more proper job aside from their old-profession.
