Abstract

This thesis is entitled “The threatment of the requisite-released convicts in penitentiary (Balai Pemasyarakatan/BAPAS) class 1 Yogyakarta, giving threatment to the requsitereleassed convicts in order to make those convicts aware of law, have skils and being autonomous, able to crreate job vacancy for themselves, and the impeding factors for this threatment in the penitentiary, such as the action for criminal repetition, the laziness of the convicts in following the threatment, the convicts who deny to do report to the penitentiary (BAPAS). Research method of this thesis was empirical law study. Empirical law study is a study focuses on the law-society those are the officials in the penitentiary and this research needs primary data as the major data beside secondary data. This research is focused in the case studies occured in the penitentiary. Analytical method of this thesis was a qualitative analysis. From the method which was done sistematically, the researcher conclude that by using a logical inductive procedure which is taken from the incidents happened in the penitentiary environment based on the valid lawregulation and the expert opinions in these related fields. Result of this thesis shows that by giving mental- threatment and skill-training to the convicts in the penitentiary they can be autonomous and able to develop their skills in proper to the training given to them as well as able to be law-aware convicts. Suggestion that the convicts report themselves regularly in order that the officials never give them sanction, that is in the form of threatment ceasing. The actionthreatment officials also give motivation to them and supervise them. It is also important that the penitentiary able to provide capital to the convicts in order that they able to develop their ventures.
