Abstract

The problems concerning the environment increases really fast and rapidly, growing into a global issue and attracting attention from all the world. One of the main problem of the environment that is faced by Indonesia is deforestation caused by palm oil farming. Palm oil came from South Africa as the main source of oil plant that produces the most resources of oil compare to other types of tree. The present of palm oil farming brought a lot of advantages such as increasing in income for the state from taxes, retribution etc. Palm oil farming has been spread out all over West Borneo, one of them is located in the City of Ketapang. The issue is how to manage the liquid waste from palm oil plantation to avoid polluting the River Pawan in the City of Ketapang and the problem that is faced by PT. Agro Lestari Mandiri. The main purpose of this research is to find out the proses of processing the liquid waste caused by the palm oil plantation/farming so that it could be controlled and prevent more polution into the water of the river in the City of Ketapang. This type of research is an empirical type that uses a primary data as the main data, which is the data that was obtained directly from respondents and the secondary data used as a support. The result of this reaserch is that PT. Agro Lestari Mandiri has been processing the liquid waste the right way and legally concerning the laws and regulation.
