Abstract

Along the development of the era, the needs in society are also getting high such as the services from business owner. The existence of relationships between business owner and consumers leads to legal consequences in the form of rights and obligations. However, business owner often do something that leads to immaterial and material losses suffered by the consumers. So, there is a need for business owner to compensate the losses of the consumers to maintain the legal relations and to protect the rights of consumers. According to the discussion described, the problem arises is “How Barbershop Owner Will Compensate The Immaterial Losses that Happened to The Barbershop Consumers in Special Region of Yogyakarta.“ The type of this research is empirical legal research. The approach used within this research was using questionnaire and conducting interview from barbershop owner in Yogyakarta and Sleman. According to the interview, barbershop owner had compensated the immaterial losses that happened to the consumers based on their professionalism and based on UUPK. The conclusion from the collected data and from the interview is consumers do claim for compensation, but without saying any specific thing to compensate. So, the barbershop owner has made the right compensation without breaching any norms and public order.
