Abstract
Absentee can be done with two methods which are, by having more than one identification card and also irrevocable power of attorney. Official Certifier of Title Deeds as the official deed of land deed maker, especially Deed of Sale and Purchase, is expected can prevent an absentee. This research aim is to identify the duty of Official Certifier of Title Deeds to prevent an absentee in Bantul Regency. This essay uses empiris method. The results of this research show that there are four methods that Official Certifier of Title Deeds can do to prevent an absentee. Which are, the Official Certifier of Title Deeds gives the parties a legal opinion to prevent an absentee, checks the parties identification card, makes sure that the parties made a statement letter that does not result in absentee, and the Official Certifier of Title Deeds do not process the Deed of Sale and Purchase if it can be an absentee.
