Abstract

This thesis has a number of backgrounds. Legal protection for investigators, especially the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigators is very important considering the risks they might experience relating to their duties, functions and position as investigators. Many dangerous things often happen to KPK investigators, ranging from being terrorized when leaving and returning from work until they are threatened with their lives and family members. One of the KPK investigators, Novel Baswedan, who some time ago became a victim of terror in the form of hydrochloric watering into his eyes, caused Novel Baswedan’s vision to be interrupted. This study uses a type of Normative Legal Research. The data obtained were analyzed and conclusions were taken using deductive thinking methods. Legal protection against KPK investigators has not been fully carried out, especially if assessed from the perspective of positive legal instruments in Indonesia. Legal protection for KPK investigators has been regulated in the Criminal Code, but it is necessary to make legal products that specifically regulate the provisions of legal protection against KPK investigators. Such legal protection includes legal protection physically and non-physically. Physical legal protection can be done by providing inherent safeguards to every KPK investigator. Non-physical legal protection can be done by revealing every case of attack or threat experienced by KPK investigators in earnest, so that the legal interests of KPK investigators are also guaranteed and protected by the state.
