Abstract

Development in an area is a way to create a region with character by having a distinct identity without leaving the origin of the history of the formation of the region. The establishment is intended as a physical establishment which can be interpreted as the establishment of buildings and the surrounding environment of an area. Special Region of Yogyakarta is a province in Indonesia which was formed from a long history of travel by leaving the cultural heritage of the Ancient Mataram, Mataram Islam and Yogyakarta, Dutch Colonial and Chinese influence. One of the cultural heritage areas in the Special Region of Yogyakarta which is quite famous is the Philosophical Axis Heritage Area. The Philosophical Axis Heritage Area is a cultural heritage area that is symbolically in the form of an imaginary line consisting of three arrangement points, namely Stage Krapyak, Kraton Yogyakarta and Tugu Pal Putih. The Yogyakarta City Investment and Licensing Service is the authorized agency to issue a Building Construction Permit or Building-Construction Permit to be built along the Philosophical Axis Heritage Area. based on this background, the problems in this study are How is the building architecture in the Philosophical Axis Heritage Area, What is the permit for the establishment of buildings in the Philosophical Axis Heritage Area, what criteria are used in granting permission to construct buildings in the Philosophical Axis Cultural Area . Legal research that will be conducted is a type of Normative Law research. The results of this research are the architecture of buildings that are used along the Philosophical Axis Heritage Area using traditional Javanese, Indies and Chinese architectural styles. The permit for the establishment of buildings in the Philosophical Axis Heritage Area basically involves parties, namely the Investment and Licensing Office of the City of Yogyakarta, the Yogyakarta City Cultural Service, the Cultural Heritage Expert Team of Yogyakarta City, the Yogyakarta Special Province Cultural Office, and the Council Cultural Heritage Preservation Considerations of the Special Province of Yogyakarta. And in accordance with the provisions in the Governor of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Number 40 of 2014 concerning Guidelines for Architecture of New Buildings with Nuance of Regional Culture, the criteria used in granting permission to construct buildings in the Philosophical Axis Cultural Heritage Area must be in accordance with the architectural style of buildings known in the Philosophical Axis Heritage Area, namely Javanese, Indis and Chinese architectural styles
