Abstract
The title of this research is The Implementation of Hospital Waste Management According to Regulation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry No. P.56/MENLHK-SEKJEN/2015 as an Effort to Prevent Environmental Pollution in Yogyakarta. This research describes and learns about (1) how is the implementation of Regulation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry No. P.56/MENLHK-SEKJEN/2015 on hospital waste management or health care facilities as an effort to prevent environmental pollution in Yogyakarta, and (2) What are the obstacles in implementing the Regulation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry No. P.56/MENLHKSEKJEN/ 2015 towards the development of hospital waste facilities or health care facilities and its solution as an effort to prevent environmental pollution in Yogyakarta. This research is an empirical research. The data used in the form of primary data as the main data and are supported by secondary data consisting of primary and secondary legal materials. Data collection technique used in this research are interviews and data mining literature such as regulations and legal articles: then the analysis technique used is inductive thinking method. The result of this research showed that the implementation of hospital waste management according to Regulation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry No. P.56/MENLHK-SEKJEN/2015 as an effort to prevent environmental pollution in Yogyakarta has not been fully implemented because of several factors; therefore, many hospitals in Yogyakarta use third parties to manage their hospital waste, especially hazardous and toxic materials. In order to carry out hospital waste management according to Regulation of the Ministry of Environment and Forestry No. P.56/MENLHK-SEKJEN/2015 as an effort to prevent environmental pollution in Yogyakarta, problems were found such as limited land, high operational costs, and adequate human resources are needed.
