Abstract

This thesis was entitled Legal Aspects of Animal Conservation and Ecosystems at Gembira Loka zoo in Yogyakarta. The purpose of this thesis was to determine the implementation of animal conservation and ecosystem through the Gembira Loka Zoo in Yogyakarta and to find out the obstacles in the implementation of animal conservation and ecosystem through the Gembira Loka Zoo in Yogyakarta. The results of the thesis showed that Gembira Loka in the implementation of conservation was in accordance with Law No. 5 of 1990 Concerning the Conservation of Natural Resources and Ecosystems that were Done at the Gembira Loka Zoo Showed good results can be seen, the Gembira Loka Zoo was growth again as it can now be seen in terms of conservation and educational tourism, the management was also getting better, relatively cleaner, the number of animals was limited to neatly arranged for the lives of animals also to be more controlled, so that it was healthier, more cared for and maintained, then the environment in the Gembira Loka zoo was cleaner and for travel more comfortable. The obstacles in the Gembira Loka Zoo were still unable to predict the existence of natural disasters that cannot be known, which causes all efforts to conserve animals and disturbed ecosystems. Gembira Loka Zoo was still lacking in Human Resources, especially in terms of security which makes the evacuation process hampered during a Natural Disaster.
