Abstract

the role of the environmental (DLH) service in protecting the quality of groundwater in the sub-district of Nanga Pinoh, Melawi Regency, West Kalimantan the importance of protecting the quality of ground water because groundwater is the most widely used water by the community to meet water needs every day. poor quality of ground water will have a negative impact on the health of the people who consume it hence the importance of the role of the environmental service as a state institution that assists the affairs of regional governments, especially related to the environment, to participate in the protection of groundwater quality, because groundwater is also an inseparable element of the environment. the purpose of this paper is to obtain data, such as how the role of the Melawi district environmental service in protecting the quality of ground water in the Nanga Pinoh sub-district, as well as any obstacles faced by the Melawi District Office of Environment in an effort to protect groundwater quality in Nanga Pinoh sub-district
