Abstract

The title of the legal paper is “The Role of Life Environmental Agency of Yogyakarta in Monitoring Cafe Business as an Effort to Control The Groundwater Utilization at Yogyakarta City.” The monitoring toward cafe business was a part of environmental preservation effort. The problem started when the business activities grow, that required a lot of resources included water resources. This thesis was aimed to find out how the role of the role life environmental agency of Yogyakarta in monitoring cafe business activity as an effort to control the groundwater utilization at Yogyakarta city by empirical research methods. In the empirical research methods, primary data was used as the main data besides secondary data. There were two conclusions drawn from this research, which was the licensing monitoring, water uses, water utilization and obstacles faced were lack of monitoring, that caused were to many cafe businesses and there were many unlicensed cafe business.
