Abstract
The main objective of this study was to investigate the relationship of job stress with turnover intention by assesing the mediating role of burnout in the furniture industries sector in Citra Furniture manufacturing industries located in Surakarta, Central Java. A total 60 questionnaires were distributed and 45 were returned. Firstly, the finding showed there was positive relationship of job stress and turnover intention. Secondly, the relationship of job stress and job burnout was tested. The findings showed a significant positive relationship between job stress and job burnout, resulting in the higher the job stress, employees get more burnout. thirdly, the effect of burnout on turnover intention was also tested, and the result showed significant positive relationship between burnout and turnover intention, resulting in the higher the burnout, the higher the employees’ intention to quit the job. Laslty, the relationship of job stress and turnover intenion by assesing the mediating role of burnout was tested. The result showed that burnout fully mediates the relationship between job stress and turnover intention. Keywords
