Abstract

Legal Aspects of the Role of the Environmental Community in the Preservation of Sei Ladi Protected Forest in Batam City The occurrence of deforestation or reduction of protected forest land due to human activities, which results in flooding in the rainy season, and drought in the dry season this study was conducted to determine the role of environmental communities in Batam City on efforts to preserve protected forests in Batam City, as well as knowing the obstacles and solutions in efforts to control environmental damage due to human activities. This research is an empirical legal research. From the results of the research, the authors found that there were many activities by unscrupulous members of the community which resulted in environmental damage and a lack of public awareness of the environment in Batam city. and a government that is less strict in implementing policies.
