Abstract
Air is an important natural resource for human life.Without a good and healthy air man can not live.One means of protecting air quality is law,legislation or positive law.Although air is protecteted by air quality legislation it still decreases. Since air pollution is a frequent problem, it must be addressed. Air pollution is one of the most frequent problem in urban areas caused by the physical development of the city and the establishment of industrial centers accompanied by a surge in motor vehicle production. In the city of Yogyakarta ,where the largest source of this pollution comes from motorized vehicle smoke. If control of air pollution is not carried out it will have an impact on human health . To extent to which legal protection against air quality is established in the city of Yogyakarta. The method of research used in these studies is empirical law.
