Abstract

This writing entitled Role of Yogyakarta City Police in handling crimes of unjust deception as conducted to find out serious handling efforts to prevent unjust deception, because many deception cases happened in the society and transgressed law and orders. Beside that, in public, relating to this situation in Indonesia, it had been happened the actions of unjust deception in a few last time and they were published via mass and electronic media so it made people to concern them so much, mainly the writer. Therefore the writer had a desire to find out the problem of this research that was "how did Yogyakarta City Police overcome crimes of deception. For this writing, the writer tried to perform the research to find out data related to the problem in Yogyakarta City Police Department, in the 5 unit of Criminal Resort. Based on this data results, the writer concluded that Police Department of Yogyakarta City Police in handling the crime of unjust deception had been successful because people mostly had obtained the information about the existence of deception ways performed by criminal so people should be careful surely from the actions. In handling the problem in this crime of unjust deception, police used the effort to overcome it more preventively than repressively ways.
