Abstract

Psychotropic abuse is one of the criminal acts which happen in society of psychotropic drugs shoul be guaranteed because it is very important in the medical, the health care and the development of science. The objects of psychotropic circulation and abuse are very widespreak. The victims are not only the adults, but also teenagers. The effort to prevent psychotropic abuse involves the role of police which is very important. The legal problem has been drawn by the author in this legal writing related to police's efforts and the barriers which were faced in overwhelming the psychotropic abuse in the area of Poltabes Yogyakarta. The purposes of this research are to know and analyse whether the efforts which has been conducted by the police could overwhelm the barriers which were faced in overwhelming the psychotropic abuse. Based on the result of this research on the police's efforts in overwhelming psychotropic abuse has on the influencing activities until the environmental covering in the lowest level of community and to the roots of the problem causes. These matters werw based on the growth of the consideration and the participation of the society to altogether with police or the other parties in fighting psychotropic circulation and abuse.
