Abstract

Corruption is an act that is very detrimental to many people. Various attempts were made by the governments to eradicate corruption. The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is a state institution whose main task is to eradicate corruption in Indonesia. The role of an independent KPK commissioner is an important prerequisite for a fair legal action as well as respecting human rights and enjoy public and international trust. Juridical normative method is applied to understand the legal basis related to the position of commissioners and the independence of the KPK. The results of the study concluded that there was a dynamic understanding of the role and position of the KPK Commissioner in law number 30 of 2002 and law number 19 of 2019. The independence of the KPK was a key element of legal action that was fair and reliable.
