Abstract

Land is a basic need for every human being. therefore, land is often the object of a dispute. Land disputes that occur on the basis of falsification of certificates are rife in Indonesia. This happens because land prices are expensive and there are still many land owners who have not registered their land and the local government and the National Land Agency are not careful in issuing certificates because there is no data on land that has been certified. So, when there was fraud in issuing the land certificate, no one knew from the start, but when the land was going to be sold, then the land dispute arose. The method used in this research is empirical legal research. The data used are sourced from primary and secondary legal sources, interviews, questionnaire, and literature study. The thought process is used inductively in this research. The results of this study indicate that there are several processes being carried out to resolve land disputes regarding double certificates. In addition, the method of resolving land disputes regarding the existence of multiple certificates can only be done through court channels or through channels outside the court. The hope is that land disputes related to duplicate certificates will not happen again in Indonesia.
