Abstract
The research was conducted to determine the role of the local government of the city of yogyakarta in issuing Environmental Approval permit. According to the Cipta Kerja law especially in Environmental Approval permit issuance, the role of the local government has changed a lot. The analytical method used in this research is empirical, where data is obtained from statutory regulations that related to Persetujuan Lingkungan permit, books, journals, theses, the internet, interviews with Head of The Legal Department of The City Government of Yogyakarta, Head of Enviremontal Planning of Enviromental Services of Yogyakarta, and Enviromental law expert. The conclusion of this research is that local government of the city of yogyakarta to date, have not been able to implement the latest law (Ciptaker) effectively, especially in issuing Environmental Approval permit. Environmental Approval permit inssuance still refering to the previous government regulation and with the new permit nomenclature
