Abstract

ndonesia is a state of law. The law becomes the basis for regulating social and state life. Narcotic abuse is a long-standing phenomenon and is experienced by all countries around the world, and is included in transnational crimes. Transnational crime is organized, planned and requires careful preparation. in Indonesia the criminal act of narcotics abuse is stipulated in Law No. 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics. In Law No. 2 of 200 the function of the police as a domestic security guard, in this case the police of the Republic of Indonesia become the main key in eradicating and tackling the crime of narcotic abuse. Based on the functions of the police, efforts are made to eradicate and overcome such as pre-emtif, preventive and repressive efforts. In pre-emtif efforts the police conduct by conducting counseling by providing educational understanding in schools and agencies with the aim of providing an understanding of the dangers of drugs. In preventive efforts carried out by means of patrols and raids in places where there is suspected narcotics abuse. And repressive efforts are carried out by uncovering the perpetrators of narcotics abuse crimes, conducting investigations and investigations and then delegated to the court, with the aim of giving a deterrent effect to the perpetrators of narcotics abuse crimes.
