Abstract
Being in the public spotlight may be a privilege for someone who wants fame and easy money by promoting products owned by business actors. But not a few are involved in the problem of both fraud, misinformation provided that requires the person to take responsibility for it. The thing that will be questioned then is about honesty and seriousness in promoting products so that the public can trust someone who is considered an Instagram celebrity as a person who can be trusted with the review submitted. This research is of course carried out with due observance of the prevailing laws and regulations in Indonesia to be harmonized with the social facts that occur. The method used by the author is a normative method, of course coupled with the opinion of experts and an Instagram celebrity who shares his experiences when he gets legal problems with business actors or consumers so that it can be used as writing this law. The problems discussed are problems that occur after Instagram celebrities endorsement so that the problems that occur are problems between business actors and consumers, not with Instagram celebrities. If in this case the Instagram celebrity feels aggrieved by the incident, then the person concerned has the right to file a lawsuit in court. the form of accountability from Instagram celebrities is only to provide clarification of how the real events openly in public. So that Instagram celebrities also get legal protection.
