Abstract

This research background is about ilegal distribution and abuse of drugs that it has become a crime on an international scale. As a student city, Yogyakarta is not spared from the circulation and misuse of narcotics and illegal drugs so that the necessary role of the police in narcotics crime solving process. The purpose of this research is to know how police investigate and solving the crime of narcotics and drugs, and what problem encountered in this case especially in Sleman jurisdiction of District Court, Yogyakarta. Normative legal research that focuses on positive norms of law about Indonesian police are used for this research methode. Police began investigating the role of the information society or police members, then inflicted or made a report the information later published a warrant investigation. After the investigation was conducted and the results of the investigation has arranged, and than if it is true that such information leads to drug abuse so it can be done and continued to narcotics criminal investigations process. Encountered that found in this case is about minimum number of investigator, minimum information about drugs case, and many more perpetrators of the drugs crime. knowledge about drugs sould be given to increase inversigation process. Book about kind of drugs also required to educate public and community that can help police to give information about drugs crime. More investigator sould be added to minimalize drugs criminal case. Education should be given to the investigators about kind of narcotics and drugs.
