Abstract

The title of this research is the role of the environmental service in the city of Palangkaraya in controlling the prevention of pollution of the Kahayan river. This research aim to find out the attitudes or actions taken by the environmental service as policy makers to provide preventive solutions to the problem of water pollution of the Kahayan river, and find out what are the obstacles faced in carrying out this work. This type of research is a type of empirical research. The primary data source of this thesis is the result of interviews from the informants, namely the related parties, namely the Palangkaraya City Environmental Service, and the secondary data in this thesis comes from several literatures, both laws and regulations related to river water pollution. The method of collecting this thesis data is through interviews with informants and respondents, conducting a literature study, and conducting a simple random sampling method by distributing questionnaires to the community in the riverbank area and the research location is on the Kahayan river, Palangkaraya city.
