Abstract
Development in Indonesia is progressing, transportation has also been embedded in people's daily lives, and has become a major need in carrying out their activities. Transportation is a very important part in expediting the wheels of the economy. Besides that, people need high discipline to obey traffic rules. Many motorcycle riders in Sleman Regency still violate traffic regulations which cause accidents. The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts and obstacles of the police in overcoming motorcycle traffic violations that caused accidents. This type of research is empirical legal research. Efforts made by the police are to carry out socialization and also take action in the form of fines for motorcyclists who violate traffic.
