Abstract

Commodity futures trading has an important role in the economy that is used as a place to form commodity prices. Binomo is an illegal broker or broker that conducts business activities in Indonesia with the Binary Option trading system. The government's efforts in blocking Binomo websites can be said to fail because Binomo can make changes to the domain of its site and the public until now can still access through the internet. This leads to a loss of public confidence in commodity futures trading. The problem in this case is how is the legal protection of investors who use illegal brokerage services in commodity futures trading? This type of research in legal research is normative legal research, which focuses on applicable laws and regulations in Indonesia. The conclusion in this study is that legal protection is still provided to investors who make transactions through unauthorized brokers. The form of protection that can be provided to investors is preventive protection by blocking websites periodically in coordination with the Ministry of Information and Communication together with Bappebti, socialization and education, and providing announcements of illegal entities through press broadcasts to investors and repressive protection is that investors can demand the cancellation of the buying and selling agreement and demand compensation to Binomo if the investor suffers a loss.
