Abstract
Laundry business is growing rapidly in Yogyakarta city especially in Sleman district. The presence of laundry facilitize the people who lives around like, workers and students which can reduce the load of housework they had without spending much time, energy, and affordable price for the people. The bad impact caused by the activity of laundry business is the production of liquid waste in the form of water detergents and it could raise the negative effects for the environment especially the waste will mixed with ground water whoch disrupts its quality. This thesis aims to understand the role of Life Environmental Agency of Sleman in monitoring laundry business activity in Sleman. This study find data respondents by using the interview method. First, the licensing monitoring and waste discharge process and obstacles faced are lack of monitoring due to a large number of laundry business, and second, there are still many unlicensed laundry business. Related to environmental of Sleman gives socialization to laundry business
