Abstract

The Security Council as a primary instrument of United Nation that have a function and authority to maintain international peace and security as regulated on United Nation Charter, now had many constraint if related to the case of United State military invasion to Iraq on March 20th, 2003 without recommended by the Security Council. Security stabilization of Iraq after the military invasion can not be restrained until today. This thing could be influential to the security situation in the Middle East region. The goal of this thesis are going to know about the role and progress of Security Council to maintain security stabilization of Iraq after military invasion of United States on March 20th, 2003. The research method was used in this thesis is normative method with focus on norm (law in book). According to normative juridical, the steps that taken by Security Council is compatible with the rules that regulated on United Nation Charter, both of preventive and restoration of security stabilization of Iraq after the military invasion. The steps that taken by the Security Council that was issued a resolution number 1472 (2003), 1483 (2003), 1500 (2003), 1511 (2003), 1546 (2004) and 1723 (2006) that related with all sector in Iraq. Generally there must be action to built a trust in each other and it is a responsibility of United Nation members and especially there must be a same perspective and mission of all groups in Iraq for security restoration in Iraq for achievement of international peace and security
