Abstract

DLH Semarang City has a strategic role in preventing environmental destruction or pollution. However, the reality is that in the Genuk Industrial Estate there are still industries whose activities or businesses pollute the environment. The problem formulation is how the role of DLH in controlling water pollution due to industrial activities in the Semarang City Genuk industrial area and what are the obstacles and solutions. Legal research is empirical. The conclusion is that the DLH Semarang City has played a role in monitoring water quality, determining the carrying capacity of water pollution loads, determining waste water quality standards and making WWTPs in the Genuk Industrial Estate, although it is not optimal. Constraints and solutions in controlling water pollution in the Genuk Industrial Estate, Semarang City, the constraints are from internal factors, namely human resources and facilities and infrastructure, namely Communal IPAL and Inde Pengendalian Pencemaran Air, Kegiatan Industri, Kawasan Industri, Genuk Kota Semarang pendent IPAL. In addition, externally, industrial companies in the Genuk area are not cooperative and there is a lack of legal awareness for entrepreneurs. The solution is that DLH Semarang City makes a monitoring schedule, report, sends strict warning letters to companies that violate, and procures IPAL.
