Abstract

The study on Efforts of the Government/Head of Regions in Preventing Misuse of Village Funds in West Mamahan Village analyzes the effort of regional heads in preventing the misuse of village funds. The purpose of this study is to envelope the effort of regional heads in preventing the misuse of West Mamahan Village Funds, specifically in the fiscal year 2018. The formulation of the problem is on “What is the effort of regional heads in preventing the misuse of the village funds in West Mamahan?”, this study uses normative legal research by focusing on the laws and regulations that are related to the effort in preventing misuse of village funds, and the base of secondary legal materials consist of books, journals, and internet, Special Examination Reports from Talaud, opinons from interviewee namely the Head of Gemeh sub-district, Head of Government Affairs, Head of Village in Women Empowerment, Child Protection and Village Community Empowerment (DP3APMD) Talaud and Assitant Inspector at the Talaud Inspectorate. Based on the research method, concludes that Regent through the District and the P3APMD Office has optimally carried out efforts to prevent village funds in West Mamahan through guidance and supervision activities, as well as sanction. By discovering the misuse of village funds in West Mamahan Village, thus Regent of Kepulauan Talaud put administrative sanction in form of freezing and returning the misused village funds.
