Abstract

This study discusses Chicken Farming in Limbur Tembesi Village, Bathin VIII District, Sarolangun Regency, Jambi Province, so it is an empirical study. The writing focuses on the existence of a location in the middle of a residential community. This is prohibited by legislation (peraturan perundang-undangan) because it can have a negative impact on the environment. In this case, the question is about the right of a healthy environmental for the community. What is the basic for the establishment of chicken farms, so that it can ignore the rights of the community about healthy environmental. Therefore, the question is regarding licensing and the community's response to the existence of chicken farms in the middle of their settlements. There are steps taken by chicken farms so as not to disturb the environment. Then, there is also the role of the Department of Environmental and the Department of Agriculture and Food Security. The data needed in primary data in the form of observations and interviews conducted by respondents and resource persons. Then it also requires secondary data, namely the laws and regulations governing the livestock sector. The focus of the research is licensing, waste management, community response to the existence of livestock. In conclusion, it is known that chicken farms have a more positive impact on the community around chicken farms, of course in the economic and social fields, this is an agreement since the beginning of the establishment of the farm. In addition, the community also respects their customs and traditions. The community around the farm never objected to the stench and flies. They will not protest or angry because of the stench and flies, but if they don't keep their promises. Communities around farms prefer to solve problems based on customary customs, namely discussing or stopping livestock activities.
