Abstract
Narcotics Rehabilitation is a coaching effort to help addicts or drug users be able to build a life free from Narcotics. The purpose of writing this law is to find out and analyze the effectiveness of rehabilitation for narcotics victims as well as efforts to handle the rehabilitation of narcotics victims in the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The type of research used is empirical legal research using primary data as the main data source and secondary data as support. The colllected data were analyzed qualitatively using descriptive methods. The conclusion is that narcotics rehabilitation in the Special Region of Yogyakarta isn’t running well and effectively. This is shown by the results of the study with the number of clients who experienced relapse of 6 people, clients who didn’t complete rehabilitation or dropped out of 65 people, while clients who completed rehabilitation were 83 people with 43 people who didn’t experience relapse. The efforts to overcome the obstacles include conducting counseling in the community and building client understanding through motivational interviewing to help change the behavior and mindset of clients so that they have the awareness to recover
