Abstract

The title of this research is The Role of the Catholic Church against the Racial Discrimination in the Perspective of the Indonesian Penal Law. The role of the Catholic Church is very important for the humanity and human dignity in Indonesia. The Church calls all the people to participate creating this world more fraternal and peaceful, without discrimination. It’s because the racial discrimination always destructed the humanity and against the human rights. To build the society more harmonies and peaceful, in perspective of Indonesian Penal Law, the citizen must promote the dignity of human person and the value of humanity. This research observes how the role of the Catholic Church to participate actively in the promotion and protection of the equal dignity of human person and the human rights to combat the racial discrimination. This activity is not contrary to the Indonesian Law, although this participation involved many Indonesian people. This research hopes that the Catholic Church fulfils her mission to promote the equality of humanity and human rights and not contrary to the penal law, but useful for all the Indonesian people.
