Abstract

Rainwater is an abundant source of water, especially in the rainy season. On the other hand, if rainwater is not managed properly, it can cause disasters, such as floods and landslides. Therefore, it is essential to manage rainwater as well as possible, namely by collecting rainwater and then absorbing it back into the ground. If the rainwater can be managed properly, it will be able to overcome some environmental damage, including groundwater problems. Controlling groundwater problems can be overcome in various ways. One of the concrete steps that can be done is with a rainwater-friendly village program. Research that uses empirical methods is conducted with a focus on social facts by collecting interview data. The study results showed that the rainwater-friendly village program could overcome groundwater problems caused by karst areas and increase human populations. Implementing the rainwater-friendly village program and overcoming groundwater problems is also a concrete step taken by the government to support the existence of the Village Sustainable Development Goals, especially point 6, which ensures that communities achieve access to clean water and sanitation.
