Abstract

One of the problems that occur in Indonesian is the violation of human rights against women. As time goes by, more and more forms of violence occur, especially the victims are women and the crime rate that occurs from time to time continues to increase, so that women must receive legal protection. The problem in this research is what factors influence a person to commit domestic violence against women and how are the responsibilities of the perpetrators of domestic violence against women. This research is a normative legal research, so the data is obtained throught library research and the conclusions of this study are that the factors that influence a person to commit domestic violence against women are gender issues which make the position between men and women unequal. Accountability that can be given to perpetrators of domestic violence is in accordance with Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence.
