Abstract

Waste management in the community must be conducted so that the community manages waste from its source and obtains the benefits resulting from it based on its type. Waste management that occurs in East Bandar Jaya still requires public awareness in waste management because there is still a lack of waste management. This study was to find out the implementation of sorting inorganic and organic waste as an effort to make a good and healthy environment in East Bandar Jaya, Lampung. The research method used in this study was qualitative, so it is expected to obtain and explain data in accordance with the facts that occur. This research used a random data collection technique (simple random sampling). The samples were residents in East Bandar Jaya and took 25 samples for the data in this study. The results of the study showed that there is still a lack of public awareness for waste management, especially household waste where in waste management only a few residents separate waste according to its type and there are still few people who use waste that can still be reused and provide economic value for residents.
