Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic in recent years has had several impacts, namely many people cannot leave their homes to buy necessities, so they use online applications for online shopping through the Shopee application where one of the payment methods used is Shopee PayLater. The purpose of this study is to find out about the legal relationship that will occur between parties who carry out buying and selling activities using the Shopee platform and to be able to analyze sale and purchase agreement activities through the Shopee platform using the Shopee PayLater payment method in terms of Information Technology-Based Co-Funding Services. The research method that the author will use is a normative research method by conducting interviews, the official Shopee website, and laws and regulations. Based on the results of this study, Shopee is a party that can be bound in trading through electronic systems where this activity is subject to Law Number 7 of 2014 concerning Trade and Government Regulation Number 80 of 2019 concerning Trading Through Electronic Systems, besides that Shopee PayLater is a method of payment arising from the agreement of the parties that are subject to the provisions of Book III of the Civil Code.
