Abstract

The use of Lake Toba in tourism activities has a positive impact and a negative impact on the environment. Impact in the field of tourism, pollution of Lake Toba causes a decrease in the level of tourist visits to the Haranggaol Area due to the damage to the ecosystem and beauty of Lake Toba. The occurrence of a decrease in water quality from waste products, disposal of hotel and restaurant waste that is discharged into lake waters. The type of research to be carried out is empirical legal research, namely legal research that focuses on the behavior of the legal community. This research was conducted directly to respondents because the primary data was carried out with secondary data consisting of primary legal material, secondary legal material, and tertiary law. Protection of Lake Toba from Pollution Due to Tourism Activities in Haranggaol such as prevention, mitigation, recovery has been carried out although in this case to provide protection for Lake Toba has not run effectively due to lack of public awareness and community participation in environmental pollution.
