Abstract

The impetus for development continues to increase, because the demands and needs for development are also increasing, but the available land supply is also increasingly limited. So it is necessary to procure land for the development of the public interest. Land acquisition is an activity of providing land by providing proper and fair compensation to the rightful party.Kulon Progo Regency is one of the regencies that has conducted land acquisition for development in the public interest, one of which is the YIA Airport access railway line. The problems in this study can be formulated in the form of research questions, namely: (1) How is the Implementation of Compensation in Land Acquisition for the Construction of the Yogyakarta International Airport Railway Line (In Kulon Progo Regency)(2) What constraints exist in the implementation of land acquisition the? This study uses empirical legal research methods. Empirical legal research is research that focuses on social facts. Empirical research was conducted directly to respondents to obtain primary data as primary data and secondary data as supporting data. The results of this study indicate that the procedure for implementing land acquisition and providing compensation for the construction of the Railway Line that accesses the International Airport has complied, but there are obstacles that slightly hinder the land acquisition process. The obstacles faced include: free land buying and selling, inheritance process without transferring names, absentee ownership, efforts made by the land acquisition committee: conducting deliberations for consensus, mediation, and providing an understanding of the social function of land. The suggestion from this study is that it is suggested that the land acquisition team provide an understanding of compensation procedures through LMAN.
