Abstract

The purpose of this legal writing with the title "Executive Review in the Drafting Process of Regional Regulations (Case Study on the Withdrawal of the Draft Regional Regulation Initiative by the City Council of Palangka Raya Regarding Islamic Boarding Schools)" is to determine how the executive review is conducted in the process of drafting regional regulations concerning Islamic boarding schools in the city of Palangka Raya, which ultimately leads to cancellation or withdrawal.lThe research methodologylused in this legal writinglis normative legal writing, which involves direct observation at the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) office of Palangka Raya and relating the events to written regulations. This legal writing also utilizes primary data consisting of direct interviews with expert sources in the field, namely the Chairman of the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) and the Subdivision of Legislation at the Office of the City Council of Palangka Raya. The research findings indicate that the Executive Review in the Drafting Process of Regional Regulations on Islamic Boarding Schools in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, experiences overlapping due to the presence of other higher regulations that are not synchronized with the Minister of Religious Affairs Regulation Number 30 of 2020 concerning the Establishment and Operation of Islamic Boarding Schools, as well as the Minister of Religious Affairs Regulation Number 31 of 2020 concerning Pesantren Education.
